So totally love these, they were what I was looking for! I love the detail and I can only imagine the time you spent researching who had what details and when things changed. Printed these out!

Post-Captain comes after captain seeing as a POST Captain would be a full bird in modern naval rank and a "Captain" would be a silver oak leaf.

this is really helpful because I'm reading a book that has the royal navy and the different uniforms, but i just can't get how it all goes together. a picture of a person wearing one and then breaking down the uniform would help if that's to much to ask.

If you look through my gallery, there are several images of RN officers from different periods. :)

Very informative! Thanks for organizing this! This is for the British Navy, I'm assuming (I'm not military savvy at all, sorry).

Oh. My. Gosh. This is fabulous!! Now I'm tempted to compare all the uniforms in Master & Commander to your list and see if they're all correct, ha ha ha. This is really fun to look at. Thank you! (I'm faving it if you don't mind) :-)

Thankee! :ahoy: I'm working on the Continental Navy right now. They should be up soon. The Spanish Navy will take me some time, I don't know all too much about their uniforms as of yet, so I'll have to do some research first. :)

I made these from scratch in MS Paint.

Nicely done  Interesting too, I love military history :D What program did you use for this?

MS Paint. Just use the lines and curves to draw the stuff and use paint bucket to fill it in. Then you can go in with the brush set on the pixel tip and put in the details.
